Rowling addiction has you tweaking worse than a junkie on A&E's Intervention, and the only possible cure is pretending that Twilight is about the after-life adventures of Cedric Diggory (Twilight's Robert Pattinson played Diggory in Goblet of Fire) who, after he was murdered by Voldemort, apparently became a vampire and transferred to a marginally less-dangerous high-school in the Pacific Northwest.

For reals. I kept expecting ~~Cedric~~ Edward to whip out a wand.

I work at a veterinarian's office now. The Vet and his wife have two children, both in grade school. Today, I come back from lunch to find a 2nd grade Reading book with a note that says "A lady will come pick this up later." Things like these happen all the time, so I just shove it to one side of my desk.

After a couple of minutes, bored, I start flipping through it. It's a simple reading book: short stories with illustrations that take up 3/4 of every page. I start reading one, about a boy asking his father for a pet. He keeps asking for weird animals: elephants, pythons, sheep. He asks for a dolphin and a whale. The illustration shows two huge wooden boxes, one that says "dolphin" and one says "whale". I look closely at the whale box and it says:

"MELVILLE WHALE FARM INC. NEW BEDFORD, MASS."

And I start laughing. They're sneaking literary references into 2nd Grade reading books. To a literature major, that's hilarious.

You know how sometimes people on your friend's list post about stuffgoing on in their life, and all of a sudden you think "Wait a minute?Since when are they working THERE? Since when are they dating HIM/HER?since when???" I start with names. Elena, for the heroine, is a favorite one. For the boy in the story, it's always Dean or Zac. The last one from years of attempting to write fan fiction. I was never good at it.

It's always about love. Chick lit, though I hate the term. I do love to read them. Mind Candy. About trying to find love, about the search for it. Elena has never found it. Because, maybe, i never had it either. Until very recently, the term "love" was foreign. I thought I loved before, but it's nothing compared to the events that started a year and a half ago. I found it, it's here, I'm living it. The feeling I can't really describe because it bears no description. If you've been there, you know. How it's wonderful and horrible and utterly brilliant in it's craziness. My love story is here.

I think I might finally finish Elena's now. I haven't written in months. Not a word. Not even here, nothing of substance. I have to push myself to write. Between essays for school and finals coming up... I will write.

with 18 days left until the deadline... NaNoWriMo, here I come.
